We're not trying to create a panic here as we're still looking into the details, but on June 28th and July 4th, Geddoe's account was used to access the moderator portion of our forums. While we're still unclear of any changes he made, it's very evident the guy was looking at information related to current and former Obsidian member's IP information as well as potentially going through PMs.

At this point, it is STRONGLY DEMANDED that anyone with user account information located in their PM box delete the corresponding PMs and to change all of your passwords related to your Obsidian accounts.

If you have sent your account information over the Obsidian boards and are unsure if the person you sent it to will delete their PMs, change your FFXI passwords.

This is not our website being compromised by malicious scripts. This is the act of a very idiotic individual who has nothing better to do than shit like this.

Man I went to bed last night convinced who it was due to what had happened on pearlsack forums then wake up to find out if was him by accessing my account and was like wtf. Managed to calm down a bit now and get all my passwords reset for everything which is so time consuming to do lol. Fortunately no one game account was taken by using my account and we found out who it was :P

Doofus figured out Geddoe's password essentially using the logic of "Well if i can pick this lock, it's the lock's fault it got picked, not mine."

While a certain level of blame can be placed on how strong a password is, using this as a crutch for one's own idiocy and immoral behavior is just low and classless. The lock wouldn't have been picked if no one tried and there's a reason why a lock is placed on shit to begin with. Maybe because...
